How to name assemblies

We recommend naming the parent part of an assembly so the finished product name is ultimately sold to your consumers. This is the hero item that you refer to and look up when looking at sales data, inventory levels in your fulfillment center, and performing your forecast.  The part number (SKU number) is the common link that communicates between your systems. 

For example, if you are selling a shampoo product, you can name it very specifically like the following: 

• Part name: 12oz Coconut & Vanilla Shampoo
• Part number: 12CVSHAM
